1978UNI-SEAT.

BMX Action 11/1981: Two or three years ago the Uni-Seat was introduced. It totally bombed. Probably because it was ahead of its time. Well, its time is now. This is absolutely the lightest seat available. The thing is molded of some kind of high-impact nylon and then bonded to a fiberglass seat post. The normal heavy metal undercarriage and clamp have been completely eliminated. Which is why the Uni-Seat is so light. Keep in mind that these are not exactly street seats. Adjusted too high they get wobbly. They are not comfortable at all But for racing they are el superbo. In the dinky dude classes all the hi-tech bikes are runnin' Uni-Seats. And if you look carefully, more and more of the hefty hombres are using them, even though they're scary at first because of the flexing. They seem to be lasting just fine, but don't run your seat post too high or the fiberglass post may bale on you. A Uni-Seat is probably the cheapest—around $20 to S22—and quickest way to shave a pound or so off your race machine. The Uni-Seat and integral fiberglass seat post weighs a bit over nine ounces which is only a bit more than the average alloy or chrome-moly seat post. A normal BMX seat will go another pound plus. And, such a deal, they now come in three or four nifty colors.		uni bmx seat 1979

2003MACNEIL COMBO.
www.agoride.com, november 2003: La marque canadienne a présenté au Salon de Las Vegas un combo selle/tige de selle des plus innovants, c'est même, d'après Mac Neil, la plus importante évolution du bmx depuis ces 10 dernières années ! 526gr (1.16lbs) au lieu de 1 kg minimum que pesaient une selle et une tige classiques de bmx, notamment dû au fait que la fixation de selle est en plastique et que la tige est en alu, donc léger, ça oui mais résistant aussi d'après la marque de Jay Miron. Une vis seulement pour le combo complet, les éléments seront également vendus séparément et à un prix raisonnable nous dit-on, que demande le peuple ?		macneil bmx seatpost combo
