Bob Haro buys back his name
Li Mend Pike, a asian business lawyer announced today that Bob Haro, founder of the famous bicycle
brand, was about to buy back the company he created in 1978 and sold in 1988, in a joint venture
with a big name in the bike industry. Rumours has been talking about Kinesis or Merida but it seems
that the deal was made in association with a newly created european group called « Bike 2000 » .
However, while the firms did not disclose the size of the stake Bob Haro, Inc . has picked up in Haro Bikes,
Bob Haro said "We have come to an agreement that made the deal incredibly valuable. With Haro Bikes
sales decreasing year after year, and the release of new retro models, I thought it was time for me to
kick in again ; in the end, I'm the one who created those bikes almost 30 years ago, I should be able,
better than anyone else, to create the 21st century copies. I still have the plans here in California in
Laguna Tuna and we recently discovered that most of the original tooling was kept at the Mackerel Bay Anlun
factory plant for all these years. "
